Join Mish in Conversation with Jewelry Expert Carol Woolton: Gardens & Jewels
From Mish: “I have always believed that looking at a flower brings a unique sense of calm and clarity. It forces you to pause, step out of the moment, and simply lose yourself in its enchantment. For me, that quiet space is exactly where creativity begins.
I recently had the absolute pleasure of sitting down with the renowned jewelry journalist, author, and host of the “If Jewels Could Talk podcast,” Carol Woolton. We met last fall at the David Gill Gallery in London—where I was visiting for the New Nature exhibition where my work was highlighted—to chat about the two great, intertwined passions of my life: gardening and jewelry design.
From my early days discovering the decorative arts at Sotheby’s to the tropical sanctuary Joseph and I have cultivated around our historic Addison Mizner studio in Palm Beach, nature has always been my ultimate guiding philosophy. In this episode, Carol and I explore how a fallen piece of dramatic tree bark or a walk through our beloved meadow in Millbrook transforms into the texture of sculpted 18-karat gold, a pavé layout of multi-colored sapphires, or a one-of-a-kind brooch.
We also shared a few behind-the-scenes stories and sneak peeks into what is inspiring me right now!
Whether you are a passionate gardener, a lover of fine craftsmanship, or simply looking for a breath of fresh air, I hope you will enjoy listening to our conversation as much as I enjoyed having it”.
